The City of Crystal Lake Hotel Tax was established to improve the quality of life for its residents, corporate citizens and visitors. These funds are invested back into the community through designated events and activities that will enhance visitor appeal and encourage overnight stays.
The City welcomes funding requests from eligible organizations. Both federally recognized, tax-exempt, not-for-profit organizations and for profit organizations may apply. For profit organizations will be subject to additional restrictions, as outlined in the guidelines.
The City of Crystal Lake is no longer accepting Hotel/Motel tax funding applications for the upcoming 2026 & 2027 program years. The City anticipates opening the next round of applications for 2028 and 2029 program years in the fall of 2027.
