Trees on City Parkways, Parks and Other Public Areas
The City has regulations regarding diseased trees located in City parkways, parks and other public areas. When trees in these areas become infected with parasitic insects, it is City policy to remove or dispose of the dying tree.

Trees on Private Property
It is a property owner's responsibility to care for trees on private property. When trees on private property become impacted by Dutch Elm Disease or Emerald Ash Borer, Crystal Lake's Diseased Tree Ordinance outlines property owner responsibilities to properly dispose of the infected tree.
