Culvert Improvement Project

Crystal Creek takes water out of Crystal Lake and passes under roads through culverts. These culverts will be removed and replaced. The Culvert Improvement Project is needed because the culverts are 50-75 years old and beyond their useful life.

Virginia Road and Route 14

The intersection improvement includes an addition of a second left-turn lane on Virginia Road, an addition of an eastbound right-turn lane on Route 14, an upgrade to traffic signal equipment, pedestrian accommodations, and bike lane striping along Virginia Road to Berkshire Lane.

Street Resurfacing Program

The City of Crystal Lake monitors road conditions and annually develops a program to repair streets that have deteriorated and need repair. The repairs consist of removing the top layer of asphalt, making spot repairs to the exposed base, and then putting a new surface back on the street.
