Expanded Pace Service in McHenry County

Post Date:12/10/2009

McHenry County has teamed up with Pace Suburban Bus to offer expanded dial-a-ride transit service in McHenry County beginning February 13, 2010 funded by McHenry County's Transit Grant Program and Senior Grant Fund.  The City of Crystal Lake, along with the City of McHenry, City of Woodstock, Dorr Township, McHenry Township, and Pioneer Center for Human Services are participating agencies in the program.  This is a new, expanded service and does not change existing dial-a-ride services currently provided in the City of Crystal Lake.

Service Area and Eligible Riders
Curb to curb, wheelchair accessible service is available in the area shown in the diagram below. Everyone (the general public, seniors older than 65 years, and people with disabilities) is eligible to make trips originating within the city boundaries of Crystal Lake, McHenry, and Woodstock, as well as to and from these cities and Valley Hi Nursing home or the Fox Lake Metra Station. Seniors older than 65 years and people with disabilities are also eligible for trips originating or ending anywhere in McHenry Township or in Dorr Township outside of Bull Valley.

To use this service, prior registration is required. Click here to register. Registration will be closed February 1, 2010 through February 14, 2010 for processing.  Registration re-opens February 15, 2010.
