Zoning Commission
Illinois State Statutes consider a Unified Development Ordinance as a comprehensive rezoning of the City and require that a Zoning Commission be established. The Mayor and City Council appointed the Zoning Commission in March 2006.
The Statute defines the duties of the Zoning Commission to include the following:

- Recommendation for the boundaries of the zoning districts
- Responsibility for holding a public hearing regarding the new Ordinance
- Completion of a report to the City Council regarding the hearing and their recommendations
According to the Statute, following the adoption of the Zoning Ordinance as part of the Unified Development Ordinance, the Zoning Commission will cease to exist.
The six members of the Crystal Lake Zoning Commission are:
Tom Hayden, Chair
James Batastini
Vince Esposito
Dave Goss
James McDonough
Lisa Waggoner
