'Tis the season for gift giving. This year, enhance your holiday shopping experience by entering to win up to $1,000 just for shopping in Crystal Lake! From November 1st, 2012 through January 31st, 2013, spend a combined total of $200 or more at Crystal Lake businesses and enter to win $1,000, $100, or $50 I Shop Crystal Lake gift certificates, redeemable at Crystal Lake businesses.

Enter the I Shop Crystal Lake Holiday Gift Certificate Contest by purchasing at least $200 at Crystal Lake businesses between November 1st, 2012 through January 31st. Winners will receive I Shop Crystal Lake Gift Certificates valued at between $50 and $1,000. Here's how to enter the contest:

1) Spend at least $200 at Crystal Lake businesses from 11/1/12 through 1/31/13
2) Submit a completed entry form along with copies of your receipts by 1/31/13

Make sure that the City receives your application by January 31st, 2013 (at the latest). Winners will be drawn on February 4th, 2013, where the following prizes will be awarded:

1 Grand Prize - $1,000 I Shop Crystal Lake Gift Certificate
10 Second Prizes - $100 I Shop Crystal Lake Gift Certificates
20 Third Prizes - $50 I Shop Crystal Lake Gift Certificates

Thank you for participating in the Back to School Fall Gift Certificate contest and for supporting local businesses. The fall contest entry period closed on October 31st. WINNERS: Click here to view the list of winners for the Back to School Fall Gift Certificate Contest.

2012 HOLIDAY GIFT CERTIFICATE CONTEST RULES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Complete contest entries can be submitted by mail or in person to the City of Crystal Lake City Hall at: 100 West Woodstock Street, Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014.

• Complete entries include: 1) copies or original sales receipts totaling $200 or more at Crystal Lake businesses, 2) a completed entry form, with your email address [if you do not have an email address, write “no email”].

• Place each application and receitps in an envelope marked “I Shop Crystal Lake Holiday Gift Certificate Contest”. Original receipts cannot be returned.

• Eligible purchases include all goods and services, taxable and non-taxable, at businesses within the City limits of Crystal Lake, IL, between November 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013.

• Completed forms must be received by January 31, 2013.

• The City will draw winners from all contest entries on February 4, 2013. Prizes will be given to winners as I Shop Crystal Lake Gift Certificates in the following amounts: (1) Grand Prize of $1,000; (10) Second Prizes totaling $100 each; (20) Third Prizes totaling $50 each.

• The City cannot provide individual tax related advice, so please consult with your financial advisor, consultant, or accountant regarding prize winnings.

• Applicants must provide copies of sales receipts to apply. The City cannot provide copies for entrants, or accept partial receipts or credit card statements. Receipts must include: 1) The store name and location, 2) All of the items purchased, and 3) Date of purchase.

• The City of Crystal Lake is not responsible for incomplete forms or late, lost, illegible, stolen, delayed, un-postmarked, postage due, or misdirected mail.

• The 2012 Holiday Certificate Contest is open to both residents and non-residents.

• All contest entrants must be at least 18 years of age on the date that their application is submitted to enter the I Shop Crystal Lake Holiday Gift Certificate Contest.

• Limit one application per purchase. Individuals can submit multiple contest entries, however, each receipt (and purchase) can only be used once.

• City employees and employee’s family members are ineligible to enter the contest.
