Battery Arrest

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017, the Crystal Lake Police Department initiated an investigation after an adult female reported she was inappropriately touched while undergoing treatment at a local pain rehabilitation center.  The complaining victim informed officers she had scheduled an appointment with Master Pain Practitioner Michael Lim* (39) of 10780 Sante Fe Trail, Huntley, IL, at Advanced Pain Rehab, located at 7115 Virginia Road Suite 122 in Crystal Lake. While receiving pain treatment on her second scheduled appointment on September 26, 2017, Lim offered to perform a massage on the victim. As Lim was administering the massage, he placed his hands on her bare breasts.

The Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit conducted the investigation and afterwards reviewed their findings with the McHenry County States Attorney’s Office.   On November 16, 2017, an arrest warrant was obtained for Michael Lim for the following charge:

  • Battery, 720 ILCS5/12-3(a), Class A Misdemeanor

Lim voluntarily turned himself in later the same day.  He was released from custody after posting $1500 bond. His next court date is scheduled for November 28, 2017, at 8:30am at the McHenry County Courthouse.
