Crystal Lake Police Investigate Robbery at Jewelry Store
On Saturday, October 21, 2017, at approximately 3:05pm, Crystal Lake Police responded to Dalzell Jewelers, 41 North Williams Street, for a report of a robbery which had just occurred. The offenders fled the area prior to police arrival. Responding officers learned that a black male had entered the store and asked to view certain jewelry. While being shown the jewelry, the male removed two trays of diamond jewelry and proceeded to flee from the business. While fleeing from the business and employees, the male struck one of the employees with his hand. The employee refused any medical attention on scene. No weapons were displayed or implied during this robbery. An accurate price of the stolen jewelry is not yet available.
The male who took the jewelry and battered the employee was described as being in his 20’s with a medium build, approximately 6’1” tall, wearing a black t-shirt with white lettering on it (believed to be “Hoops”), gray sweatpants, and white athletic shoes. The driver of the car was described only as being a black male.
